Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and check payments with strict adherence to cash-handling policies.
- Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries, and resolve issues to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies.
- Assist with general store duties, including inventory stocking and price tagging when not at the register.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and loss prevention protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations during peak hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cash handling is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong numeracy skills and basic math proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn new POS software.
