Responsibilities
- Accurately ring up customer purchases using the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various payment methods (cash, credit, debit).
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with finding products to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Scan, bag, and organize merchandise efficiently during peak hours.
- Process returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and store aisles at all times.
- Assist with inventory stocking and price changes as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and loss prevention procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is a plus but not required for motivated candidates.
- Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and available for a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn new POS systems.
