As a Cashier, you will be the face of our store, ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. We provide comprehensive training and on-the-job support to help you succeed.
Responsibilities
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently to ring up customer purchases accurately and quickly.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions with strict attention to accuracy and accountability.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any checkout issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy checkout area, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
- Assist with bagging groceries and ensuring items are packed securely for transport.
- Monitor the store for safety hazards and report any maintenance issues to management immediately.
- Process returns, exchanges, and apply appropriate store discounts or coupons.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred but not required.
- Strong math skills and the ability to handle money with high accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the sales floor.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy is a plus.
