Responsibilities
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process sales transactions quickly and accurately.
- Greet customers upon arrival and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with strict attention to accuracy and cash drawer reconciliation.
- Assist customers with locating products and answering questions to ensure a seamless shopping journey.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and fully stocked with bags and supplies.
- Restock shelves and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong basic math skills and the ability to handle money accurately.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Proficiency with technology and POS systems is a plus.
