Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately to process customer purchases.
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and assist them with finding products.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with strict attention to detail to minimize errors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area at all times.
- Bag groceries and prepare orders for delivery pickup.
- Process returns, exchanges, and coupons according to company policy.
- Assist with inventory management and stocking shelves when not at the register.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred but not required.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
