Responsibilities
- Manage circulation desk operations including check-ins/outs and renewals
- Assist patrons with digital resource navigation (eLibrary, databases)
- Process new materials and maintain accurate catalog records
- Support children's literacy programs and community events
- Shelve materials and maintain orderly reading spaces
- Process interlibrary loan requests and document delivery
- Provide basic reference assistance and technology support
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Strong customer service orientation with patience
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Valid North Carolina driver's license (required for outreach programs)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings (10-15% schedule)
- Commitment to complete paid training program (8 weeks)
