Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with locating books, digital resources, and reference materials.
- Manage the circulation desk, including check-ins, check-outs, and account management.
- Shelve returned items in the correct Dewey Decimal system categories.
- Process new library acquisitions and maintain inventory records.
- Organize and clean library spaces to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Answer general inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Support special events and programs by setting up materials and assisting attendees.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a library, archive, or customer service role is a plus.
- Proficiency with computers and library management software (e.g., SirsiDynix, ELAN).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
