Responsibilities

  • Circulation Support: Assist patrons with check-in, check-out, renewals, and holds processing using the Integrated Library System (ILS).
  • Reference Assistance: Provide general directional assistance, answer basic inquiries, and guide patrons to physical and digital resources.
  • Collection Management: Sort, shelf-read, and organize library materials to ensure accurate inventory and accessibility.
  • Program Support: Help set up and facilitate children’s storytimes, adult workshops, and community events.
  • Patron Services: Maintain a welcoming atmosphere on the service desk and address patron concerns with patience and professionalism.
  • Technology Maintenance: Assist in troubleshooting common library equipment, including self-checkout kiosks and printers.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role or library setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Proficiency with computer systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office Suite) is essential.
