Responsibilities

  • Manage the circulation desk, including checking in/out materials, processing fines, and maintaining accurate patron records.
  • Assist patrons with research inquiries, recommending books, and navigating our online databases.
  • Shelve library materials in correct order using the Dewey Decimal System and Library of Congress classification.
  • Organize and maintain the library's physical and digital collections to ensure accessibility and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to patrons regarding library computers, Wi-Fi, and e-book platforms.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of children's and adult programming events.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Library Science preferred.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or library setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and library management software (e.g., Sierra, Evergreen).
