Responsibilities
- Circulation Services: Assist patrons with checking in/out materials, processing fines, and managing library cards efficiently.
- Shelving & Organization: Sort and shelve returned books and media in the correct Dewey Decimal sections to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Reference Assistance: Guide library visitors in navigating the catalog and finding specific resources.
- Program Support: Help set up and organize community events, story times, and workshops.
- Technology Help: Provide basic troubleshooting and support for library computers and Wi-Fi access points.
- Interlibrary Loan: Process requests for materials not held within our system.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service, retail, or library settings is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Technical: Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new library software systems.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes of books weighing up to 30 lbs.
