Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service at circulation desks, assisting patrons with checkouts, returns, and account management
- Organize and maintain library collections, including cataloging new materials and ensuring proper shelving
- Conduct engaging reference services, helping patrons locate resources and research information
- Support digital literacy initiatives by assisting with computer access, online databases, and technology troubleshooting
- Coordinate and facilitate community programs, including children's storytimes and adult workshops
- Manage interlibrary loan systems and maintain accurate circulation records
- Assist with marketing library services through social media and community outreach
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent library experience required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven experience in customer service or library environments
- Proficiency with library management systems (e.g., Sierra, Evergreen)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Basic knowledge of cataloging principles (AACR2/LC classification)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
