Responsibilities
- Manage daily circulation operations including check-ins, check-outs, and renewals using our integrated library system
- Provide exceptional customer service assisting patrons with book selection, research inquiries, and digital resource access
- Process new materials through cataloging, labeling, and shelving according to Dewey Decimal standards
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate records of library assets
- Support technology assistance for patrons using public computers, printers, and Wi-Fi access
- Assist in planning and executing community programs like storytimes and literacy workshops
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in Library Science preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience in fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with library systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha) or willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite and internet navigation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle up to 25 lbs of materials
- Valid California driver's license (for potential branch rotation)
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable
