Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating materials, using library computers, and navigating the online catalog.
- Shelve library materials in the correct order using the Library of Congress classification system.
- Check books in and out using the library management system (ILS).
- Perform light reference duties and provide basic information to library visitors.
- Organize and maintain library collections, including repairing damaged books and processing new arrivals.
- Assist with the setup of library programs and events.
- Monitor library floors to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license is a plus.
