Responsibilities
- Shelve library materials in an organized and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Assist patrons with locating books, using library computers, and navigating our digital databases.
- Process new books and media, including checking in materials, stamping, and labeling.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the library stacks and public areas.
- Answer inquiries via phone and in person, directing patrons to appropriate resources.
- Support library programs and events by setting up materials and assisting with logistics.
- Assist in the circulation desk duties, including checking out items and managing fines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a library, retail, or customer service role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with library management systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha) is a plus.
