Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service at service desks, assisting patrons with material circulation, account inquiries, and technology support
- Curate and organize library collections, including digital resources, periodicals, and multimedia materials
- Implement engaging youth literacy programs including storytimes, reading clubs, and STEM workshops
- Manage library systems including cataloging, inventory control, and interlibrary loan operations
- Train patrons on digital literacy skills including public computer access, e-resource platforms, and research databases
- Collaborate with community partners to develop outreach initiatives for underserved populations
- Maintain clean, welcoming library environments and ensure ADA compliance
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Library Science, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years customer service experience with demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and digital resource management platforms
- Valid California Driver's License with reliable transportation
- Experience developing and implementing educational programs for diverse age groups
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in cataloging and inventory management
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
