Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating materials, using computers, and navigating library resources effectively.
- Process new materials, check-in and check-out items, and manage fines and fees accurately.
- Shelve returned books and periodicals in the correct order using the Dewey Decimal System.
- Provide exceptional customer service at the information desk and over the telephone.
- Organize and maintain public areas, including desks, study rooms, and periodical sections.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of library programs and community outreach events.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in customer service or library work is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with library software systems.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
