Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with book circulation, reference inquiries, and digital resource navigation
- Process new materials, including cataloging and shelving books, media, and periodicals
- Maintain organized library spaces and ensure clean, accessible environments
- Support program coordination for community events and educational workshops
- Manage circulation systems and assist with interlibrary loan requests
- Train patrons on library technology and digital resources
- Collaborate with team members to resolve patron concerns efficiently
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in library science preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with library software (ILS systems) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of Dewey Decimal System and cataloging principles
