Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service at the circulation desk, assisting patrons with checkouts, returns, and account inquiries
- Organize and maintain library collections, including shelf-reading, inventory management, and processing new materials
- Implement and oversee digital literacy programs, including basic tech support and device troubleshooting
- Coordinate children's and teen programming, including storytimes and educational workshops
- Manage interlibrary loan requests and maintain catalog records using ILS systems
- Assist with community outreach initiatives and promotional events
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and space optimization
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; library science degree or coursework preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or library operations
- Proficiency with library management systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha) and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management
- Excellent communication abilities with diverse populations
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
