Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating resources, checking out materials, and navigating digital catalogs
- Manage circulation desk operations including processing returns and fines
- Develop and maintain accurate library databases and inventory systems
- Coordinate community outreach programs and literacy initiatives
- Provide technology support for public computers and digital resources
- Collaborate with team members on collection development and shelving
- Prepare promotional materials for library events and services
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; library science coursework preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience in a public-facing role
- Proficiency with library management systems (e.g., Sierra, Koha)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic knowledge of Dewey Decimal System
- Valid Alaska driver's license (for outreach programs)
- Alaska residency required
