Responsibilities
- Manage daily circulation operations including check-ins, check-outs, and renewals
- Assist patrons with research inquiries, digital resources, and technology troubleshooting
- Organize and maintain physical/digital collections using Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress systems
- Facilitate community programs including literacy workshops and cultural events
- Process new acquisitions and conduct inventory management
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on outreach initiatives
- Maintain accurate patron records and circulation statistics
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Library Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years library or customer service experience
- Proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) like Sierra or Evergreen
- Strong research skills with familiarity with academic databases
- Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and navigate multi-story buildings
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred
- Valid DC driver's license (for outreach programs)
