Responsibilities
- Manage the circulation desk, including efficient check-ins, check-outs, and fine collection processes.
- Assist patrons with computer usage, internet access, and complex research inquiries.
- Organize and shelve library materials in an efficient and systematic manner to ensure easy retrieval.
- Assist with the planning and execution of library programs, workshops, and community outreach events.
- Process new acquisitions and maintain the library's digital and physical catalog database.
- Ensure the library environment is clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors and staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Library Science or Information Technology preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on inclusivity.
- Familiarity with library management software (e.g., Koha, SirsiDynix) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift boxes of books and stand for extended periods as required.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to support community needs.
