In this role, you will be the first point of contact for library visitors, managing circulation desk operations, and assisting with the organization of our vast collection. You will help bridge the gap between our community and the information they need.

Responsibilities
- Circulation Services: Process check-outs, check-ins, renewals, and manage fines using the SirsiDynix system accurately and efficiently.
- Patron Assistance: Provide friendly and accurate assistance to patrons in locating materials, answering reference questions, and navigating digital databases.
- Collection Maintenance: Sort, shelf-read, and organize library materials to ensure the collection is accessible and orderly.
- Program Support: Assist in the setup and facilitation of children's story hours, adult reading groups, and special community events.
- Reference Support: Assist patrons with basic computer usage, printing, scanning, and internet research.
- Interlibrary Loan: Process and track requests for materials not available locally.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service or a library environment is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer operations; experience with library management software (ILS) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient and approachable demeanor.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods while shelving books.
