Responsibilities
- Expertly prepare specialty coffee drinks using advanced techniques including latte art, pour-overs, and espresso mastery
- Train and mentor junior baristas on beverage recipes, equipment operation, and customer service standards
- Manage inventory control, bean freshness protocols, and supply ordering for premium ingredients
- Develop seasonal beverage menus incorporating local flavors and trending coffee innovations
- Ensure impeccable cleanliness and sanitation of all workstations, equipment, and customer areas
- Process cash and digital transactions with 100% accuracy while maintaining POS system integrity
- Foster community engagement through coffee education workshops and tasting events
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional barista experience with specialty coffee certification (SCA preferred)
- Proven expertise in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art techniques
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to create premium customer experiences
- Strong inventory management and cost control capabilities
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of coffee bean origins, roasting profiles, and brewing science
- Valid Texas Food Handler certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Spanish fluency strongly preferred for serving El Paso's diverse community
