Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Greet every customer with a warm, welcoming smile and provide exceptional customer service.
- Handle cash, credit, and check payments with strict accountability and follow all company cash-handling policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing checkout area and sales floor.
- Assist customers in locating products and answer questions regarding store policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the sales team to maximize sales opportunities and cross-merchandise.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to ensure high satisfaction levels.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in retail or as a cashier is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions with high accuracy.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Reliable attendance and availability to work weekends and holidays as required.
