Responsibilities
- Provide safe, attentive dog walking services for 1-4 dogs per group
- Administer medications or special care as requested by pet owners
- Maintain detailed activity logs and client communication via our app
- Adapt walks to dogs' needs (energy levels, weather, health conditions)
- Transport pets to/from vet appointments or daycare when required
- Uphold strict safety protocols during all interactions
- Represent Oakland Paws with professionalism and enthusiasm
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year professional dog walking or pet care experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable insured vehicle
- Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Availability for weekday mornings/afternoons and weekends
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to walk 5+ miles daily in varied Oakland terrain
- Passion for animal welfare and flexible work ethic
- Background check clearance required
