Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Accurately operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer payments, rental agreements, and returns efficiently.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries regarding equipment availability and pricing, and provide expert guidance on rental terms.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the rental counter area and ensure all rental equipment is properly logged before and after transactions.
- Payment Verification: Verify customer identity and driver's licenses, check credit cards, and handle cash transactions with strict adherence to company cash handling policies.
- Issue Resolution: Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and escalate complex concerns to the store manager when necessary.
- Equipment Checkout: Ensure all safety checks and paperwork are completed before releasing equipment to the customer.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or rental operations is preferred.
- Skills: Strong math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately and quickly.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional, friendly demeanor.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, trustworthy, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with computers and POS software is required.
