Responsibilities
- Perform safe, supervised dog walks for clients in the San Jose area, covering various terrains and weather conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and supplements to dogs according to strict schedules.
- Monitor pet health and behavior, reporting any issues (vomiting, aggression, lethargy) immediately to the pet parent.
- Ensure all waste is promptly and properly cleaned up to maintain hygiene standards.
- Provide basic obedience training and positive reinforcement techniques during walks.
- Maintain accurate digital logs and updates for every visit and walk.
- Greet clients warmly and ensure secure handling of pets before and after walks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of professional dog walking or pet sitting experience is preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk 2+ miles per shift.
- Strong understanding of canine body language and safety protocols.
- Reliable smartphone with data access for communication and GPS tracking.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Certification in Pet First Aid/CPR is a plus.
