Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Accurately handle cash, credit card, and gift card transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions regarding products and services, and resolve any complaints with a smile.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies.
- Inventory Support: Assist in scanning and logging inventory during shifts as needed.
- Checkout Efficiency: Maintain an efficient checkout line to minimize wait times for customers.
- Payment Handling: Verify all transactions, handle returns and exchanges according to policy, and balance the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not required.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Math Skills: Strong basic math skills and attention to detail are essential for handling cash and change accurately.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Reliability: Must be punctual and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
