Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently, processing various payment methods including cash, credit, and debit cards.
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, providing a welcoming and positive shopping environment.
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies (bags, receipt paper, etc.) at all times.
- Handle cash transactions with strict accuracy, balancing the cash drawer at the end of every shift.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally and in accordance with company policy.
- Assist with inventory stocking and organization as needed to maintain product availability.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is preferred but not required; we provide on-the-job training.
- Strong basic math skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
