The Great Lakes Bistro is seeking dedicated and charismatic individuals to join our dynamic team as part-time Servers. As a Server, you will be the face of our establishment, ensuring our guests feel welcomed, valued, and cared for from the moment they arrive until they leave. We offer a competitive pay structure, flexible scheduling, and a supportive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide warm, friendly, and professional service to all guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items and ingredients, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them accurately to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Process payments efficiently and accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including wiping tables, restocking supplies, and removing trash.
- Upsell products (e.g., appetizers, desserts, specialty drinks) to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
- Adhere to all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Server, Waiter, or Waitress preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong knowledge of food and wine pairings and menu items.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while maintaining a high level of energy and professionalism.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
