Responsibilities
- Manage complex reference inquiries using advanced research methodologies and specialized databases
- Oversee digital resource management including e-book platforms, archival systems, and digital preservation
- Develop and implement community outreach programs for underserved populations
- Train and mentor junior staff on cataloging standards (RDA, MARC) and circulation protocols
- Coordinate interlibrary loan operations and resource sharing networks
- Analyze usage statistics to optimize collection development and space utilization
- Facilitate technology workshops for patrons covering digital literacy skills
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from ALA-accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years' experience in academic or public library settings
- Advanced proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) such as Sierra or Evergreen
- Demonstrated expertise in metadata standards and digital asset management
- Experience grant writing and program budgeting for library initiatives
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record (for outreach programs)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or Arabic preferred
