Responsibilities
- Manage digital archives and specialized collections using Library of Congress classification systems
- Lead patron training programs for advanced research databases and e-resources
- Oversee interlibrary loan operations with national/international partners
- Supervise junior staff and volunteers in circulation and reference services
- Develop and implement community outreach initiatives for underserved populations
- Coordinate preservation efforts for rare manuscripts and local historical documents
- Analyze usage metrics to optimize resource allocation and service delivery
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) from ALA-accredited institution
- 3+ years of progressive library experience with demonstrated leadership
- Advanced proficiency in integrated library systems (ILS) and metadata standards
- Expert knowledge of copyright law and fair use guidelines
- Certification in digital preservation standards (DPC or equivalent)
- Experience managing multicultural library services and multilingual resources
- Proven ability to develop data-driven collection development strategies
- Valid California Driver's License for outreach program support
