Responsibilities
- Manage complex patron interactions including research consultations, digital literacy training, and specialized resource referrals
- Oversee daily circulation operations, inventory management, and catalog maintenance using integrated library systems
- Develop and implement community outreach programs targeting underserved populations and special interest groups
- Train and mentor junior staff on library procedures, customer service standards, and technology applications
- Collaborate with department heads on collection development, strategic planning, and service innovation
- Manage interlibrary loan systems and resource sharing networks across regional partnerships
- Analyze usage statistics to identify service gaps and recommend evidence-based improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Management, or related field required
- Minimum 3 years progressive library experience with demonstrated expertise in public services
- Advanced proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and digital resource platforms
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional initiatives
- Exceptional communication skills with experience in community engagement and public speaking
- Certification in Library Technology or Information Management preferred
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean driving record for outreach program delivery
