Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume transactions with 100% accuracy while maintaining exceptional customer service standards
- Train and mentor junior cashiers on POS systems, security protocols, and upselling techniques
- Resolve complex payment discrepancies and customer inquiries with professionalism and empathy
- Conduct daily cash register audits and ensure compliance with financial controls
- Collaborate with store management to optimize checkout efficiency and reduce wait times
- Implement loss prevention strategies and identify suspicious activity patterns
- Participate in inventory management for checkout lane supplies and promotional materials
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in high-volume retail or hospitality cash handling
- Expertise with modern POS systems (e.g., Square, Shopify POS, Oracle Retail)
- Proven ability to maintain accuracy during peak rush periods (handling 50+ transactions/hour)
- Exceptional conflict resolution skills with diverse customer demographics
