Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit cards, checks, and gift cards.
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and provide assistance with locating products.
- Process returns and exchanges according to company policy and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy checkout area to ensure a professional appearance.
- Bag merchandise carefully and assist customers with loading items into their vehicles when necessary.
- Monitor the cash drawer at the start and end of every shift to ensure accuracy and balance the till.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints with patience and a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Previous experience as a Cashier or in retail sales is a plus but not required.
- Strong numeracy skills and the ability to handle cash transactions with high accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
- Reliable transportation and availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with POS systems.
