Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in cryptography and machine learning
- Lead qubit stabilization experiments using cryogenic systems and error-correction protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into scalable quantum solutions
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum computing education initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum gate operations and circuit design
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant computing
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Experience with superconducting qubit platforms or trapped ion systems
- Strong background in linear algebra and computational complexity theory
