Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Design and execute quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to mitigate quantum decoherence effects
- Lead research initiatives to achieve quantum advantage in cryptography and materials science
- Mentor junior researchers and publish findings in Nature/Science journals
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Contribute to open-source quantum software frameworks like Qiskit and Cirq
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, PyQuil)
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Proven ability to secure research funding and lead cross-functional teams
