Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and engineers in quantum hardware integration
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA initiatives
- Present findings at premier quantum computing conferences (Q2B, APS March Meeting)
- Drive commercialization of quantum solutions in finance and pharmaceuticals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (post-doc preferred)
- 5+ years experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum algorithms
- Expertise in superconducting qubit systems or ion trap technologies
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface codes, color codes)
- Strong Python/C++ skills for quantum simulation development
