Responsibilities
- Safely leash, walk, and exercise dogs of various sizes and breeds in designated areas
- Monitor pets for health/wellness concerns and provide detailed owner updates
- Maintain clean, safe walking environments and practice responsible waste disposal
- Adhere to strict schedules and client-specific care instructions
- Build rapport with pets and owners through reliable, compassionate service
- Manage multiple dogs simultaneously when required
- Document walks and maintain accurate client records
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year professional dog handling or walking experience
- Current pet first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent physical stamina for walking in varied weather conditions
- Valid Alaska driver's license and reliable transportation
- Passionate about animal welfare with exceptional patience
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check
- Familiarity with local Anchorage parks and trails preferred
