We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Server Administrator to join our growing IT team in New York City. Responsibilities
- Monitor server health, performance, and uptime using industry-standard monitoring tools.
- Perform routine system maintenance, patches, and security updates.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for internal users and escalate complex problems.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of virtual machines (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory.
- Conduct regular data backups and verify restore procedures.
- Collaborate with the network team to ensure seamless connectivity.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Computer Science or IT preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, and DHCP.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation required (office is in Midtown Manhattan).
