Responsibilities
- Shelve library materials accurately and in a timely manner to ensure patron access.
- Assist patrons with locating books, checking out materials, and answering basic reference questions.
- Process incoming and outgoing library materials, including checking in books and updating circulation records.
- Organize periodicals, newspapers, and digital resources within the periodicals section.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for library visitors.
- Assist with setting up and managing children’s programs and story times as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in customer service or a library setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with library management software (preferred).
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
