Responsibilities
- Safely leash and walk dogs individually or in small groups (max 4 dogs) in designated neighborhoods and trails
- Provide attentive care including feeding, fresh water, and waste cleanup during walks
- Monitor dog behavior and report any health concerns or unusual activity to the pet owner
- Maintain accurate walk logs and client communication via our mobile app
- Adhere to all local leash laws and safety protocols for dog and public safety
- Transport dogs to/from walks in company vehicles when required
- Build trust-based relationships with both dogs and their owners
Qualifications
- Valid Alaska driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to walk 5+ miles in varying Alaskan weather conditions
- Strong understanding of canine body language and behavior
- Excellent time management and punctuality
- Must pass background check and pet first aid certification
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Local Anchorage residency preferred for immediate availability
