Responsibilities
- Ring up customer purchases accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions regarding products and services, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions, ensuring all receipts are issued and change is accurate.
- Process returns, exchanges, and merchandise adjustments according to company policy.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations during peak hours.
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise as needed to keep the store inventory current.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in retail sales is a plus but not required.
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to handle money accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
