Responsibilities
- Greet customers immediately upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions with strict attention to accuracy and cash drawer balancing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area and store aisles at all times.
- Assist customers in locating products and provide product recommendations when appropriate.
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays to ensure the store is well-presented.
- Adhere to all company policies, loss prevention procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous experience in retail or cash handling is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong basic math skills and the ability to count money quickly and accurately.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
