Responsibilities
- Provide safe, attentive dog walking services in designated Detroit neighborhoods
- Implement proper leash handling and control techniques during walks
- Monitor pet health and behavior, documenting observations in client reports
- Administer basic care (feeding, water refills, waste cleanup) as requested
- Maintain strict punctuality and reliability for scheduled appointments
- Communicate professionally with pet owners via app updates and photos
- Adhere to Urban Paws' safety protocols and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old with valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Passionate about animal welfare with patience for diverse dog breeds
- Strong physical ability to handle medium/large dogs and walk 3-5 miles daily
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and reporting
- Available for weekday/evening shifts (15-25 hours/week)
- Successfully complete our paid 3-day training certification program
- Background check and TB test required upon hiring
- Smartphone proficiency for scheduling and photo updates
