Responsibilities
- Assist Patrons: Provide exceptional customer service by helping visitors locate materials, use computers, and navigate library resources.
- Shelving & Organization: Sort, shelf-read, and organize returned books and media to ensure the collection is accessible and organized.
- Check-in/Check-out: Process library materials through the circulation desk, manage fines, and handle account inquiries.
- Program Support: Assist in the setup and execution of children's programs, story hours, and adult workshops.
- Collection Maintenance: Monitor the collection for damaged items and assist in the processing of new acquisitions.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail when sorting and organizing inventory.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable with a positive attitude.
