Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with library services including material checkout, returns, and account management
- Shelve and organize library materials according to Dewey Decimal System
- Provide basic reference support and technology assistance to patrons
- Conduct outreach programs for children, teens, and adult communities
- Maintain clean, welcoming library spaces and enforce facility policies
- Process new materials and maintain accurate inventory records
- Support special events and programming initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 6 months customer service experience
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with library systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Valid California driver's license may be required for branch transfers
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly desirable
