Responsibilities
- Manage complex reference services using advanced research databases and specialized collections
- Develop and implement digital literacy workshops for diverse community demographics
- Oversee cataloging and metadata management for specialized archives
- Lead outreach initiatives connecting underserved populations to library resources
- Maintain and troubleshoot integrated library systems (ILS) and digital platforms
- Supervise part-time staff and volunteers during operational shifts
- Analyze usage data to inform strategic collection development decisions
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of progressive library experience with demonstrated expertise in reference services
- Proficiency in ILS systems (e.g., Sierra, Evergreen) and metadata standards (MARC, Dublin Core)
- Advanced knowledge of digital preservation techniques and emerging technologies
- Experience managing volunteer programs and community partnerships
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred
