Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service at service desks, assisting patrons with circulation, reference inquiries, and technology support
- Manage and organize library materials, including shelving, inventory control, and collection maintenance
- Conduct engaging outreach programs and educational workshops for diverse community groups
- Operate integrated library systems (ILS) and assist patrons with digital resources and research tools
- Maintain accurate records and reports for circulation statistics and patron interactions
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and community initiatives
- Ensure safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all library visitors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; library science coursework or certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or library environment
- Strong proficiency with digital resources, including e-books, databases, and online catalogs
- Excellent communication skills with ability to serve diverse populations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
- Basic knowledge of library classification systems (Dewey Decimal, Library of Congress)
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
