Responsibilities
- Assist patrons with locating books, research materials, and utilizing library databases and computer systems.
- Shelve library materials in correct order and maintain the organization of the stacks.
- Manage circulation desk duties, including checking books in and out, renewing loans, and processing holds.
- Organize and digitize archival materials to ensure long-term preservation and accessibility.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries and resolving patron issues efficiently.
- Assist with the setup and coordination of library programs, workshops, and community events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate's degree in Library Science or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a library, archive, or customer service role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and library management software (e.g., SirsiDynix, Koha).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
